This web site is named after Blaven, a mountain on the
misty Isle of Skye. Blaven, or Blà Bheinn to use its proper
Gaelic name, is widely recognised as one of the most beautiful and
photogenic mountains in Scotland.
On this site you will discover photographs and information about
Blaven and the surrounding area, including the nearby crofting community
of Torrin.
For a relatively remote and thinly populated part of the United Kingdom
the Isle of Skye is steeped in history and rich in myths.
You can get a taste for this on the seven mile journey from
the town of Broadford to Blaven. Also drink the views from the
webcams in and around the island. Finally
there is some general information and useful web links for
Skye.
