While holidaying with friends at Glenelg my wife and our two kids with a youngster from our friends family, spent 4 hours getting to the top. We are so glad we did it and with the day being perfectly clear it was well worth it. The kids were just brilliant, Rachel 15, Michael 11 and Becky also 11 all made it.
There are just a couple of piccys of Blaven on my web site www.awoodger.co.uk under the family tab.

I agree Blaven is one of the best sights in Scotland. I’ve just spent two weeks on holiday at Torrin and think people living there are very lucky to have such wonderful scenery on their doorstep. Your web site is very interesting. Of course I’ve been pronouncing Blaven all wrong.....I don’t know why maps and english signs spell the words differently to how they are pronounced. It is so embarrassing when we find out we are talking double dutch as far as the locals are concerned! Perhaps I will start a campaign to have this changed!!!
